Art Elsewhere is a curatorial art initiative founded in 2017 and based in London. We encourage contemporary art practice in light of ongoing transformations in philosophy, theory, and knowledge.

What We Do

Art Elsewhere is a curatorial art initiative founded and curated by Senem Cagla Bilgin, focused on contemporary art practice, environmental and social issues such as ecological crises, migration, equality.

We are interested to work on collective or individual projects, performances, artistic and scientific research.

We provide exhibitions, residencies, studio visits, publications, and support emerging artists and curators through a programme of projects in temporary spaces and international art fairs.

Open Laboratory of Elsewhere

Open Laboratory of Elsewhere (OLE), is an independent collective pedagogical laboratory locates on temporary places in London and Turkey. To engage the existing capacity of knowledge between professionals and academic users and turn itself into a collective learning centre, within yearly programs and variable durations.

A purpose is to be a space where for a group of four postgraduate level art students, and academicians who lecture at different fine art universities, to work, produce and learn together.

OLE started with an urgent need to rethink alternative education models for art students who come from lower financial groups and diverse communities.

Join + Support Us

We stand behind the idea that geographical, cultural, professional, gender, and ability diversity contributes to the generation of ideas, innovative and different perspectives, and the added value that allows us to learn from each other. Collective action is the framework through which we can achieve change at a systems level.

Whether you're looking for a volunteering role or collaboration find out what it means to work with Art Elsewhere.

Art Elsewhere relies on a mix of public and private funding. If you'd like to offer a kind donation towards one of our projects, and if you would like to discuss how your support can make a difference, please contact us.
